So wonderful of you and Kris to make us all feel as though we're traveling with you and to see all your pictures. It was all so interesting. Have fun in your new place and much luck to both of you in sunny CA! Got your thank you yesterday but foolishly didn't save your new address so let me know what it is when you get a chance. Miss you and hope to see you in Dec. Love, Linda

Have either of you ever registered in MA? I'm wondering if, no matter how grueling, the process actually takes longer than the MA DMV. they seem to have refined it to an art. right down to the BackBreaker(tm) wooden benches that you get to wait on.

Yes, I once registered my car in MA - back in 2001. The CA DMV was worse. I don't know about the actual process for getting a driver's license, since I didn't do that in MA, but it just took forever. I liked how in MA you went to a central line, but there were seperate ones for registering your car and getting your license. And then the same process of giving you a number, like in the deli, where you wait until you're called. However, at least the MA DMV is open on Saturdays. The CA DMV is only open ONE Saturday per month - and it's a new thing. Ridiculous.
